Word Detectives!

Every  Rise and Shine assembly, the Word Detective visits us and the kids love it! As part of our phonics program, the kindergartners are expected to learn three phonics rules:

1. A vowel at the front has a short vowel sound
2. A vowel in the middle has a short sound
3. The magic "e" makes the vowel in the middle have a long sound

When the students are able to recognize these 3 rules and apply them, they become Word Detective gumshoes.  Congratulations to all students that became gumshoes!
